Roobedo Open Studio Event

Pitlochry based textile designer and maker Ruth Morris is to open her studio workshop in the picturesque hamlet of Moulin, in Pitlochry this weekend 3rd and 4th Sept, 10-5pm, for one weekend only!
This is the first time that Ruth has opened her doors as part of the Perthshire Open Studios.
She says “It will be the first event of this kind I have done for a couple of years and it would be lovely to see some old faces and new, so please come along to say hello! You’ll get the exclusive chance to see my new Winter Collection using Harris tweed especially woven for me by Donald John Mackay of Luskentyre.  The collection includes skirts, trousers and jackets.”
Ruth established Roobedo well over a decade ago and has exhibited far and wide including Japan, Sweden and Germany as well as throughout the UK.
She continues “I cut, stitch, print and felt Harris tweed to create colourful, tactile pieces inspired by the sea and shoreline.  On show this weekend there will also be co-ordinates in cord, new bracelets, spinners and other accessories, picnic blankets, cushions and a small selection of sale stock.  And if the fancy takes you, I’ll have my sewing machine at the ready so you can (with my help) run up your very own Harris tweed heart-string bunting to take away!”
