Spring Sprung Summer

Well, what a long winter it was.
Spring was a bit late, and now it’s the 1st June and Summer is definitely in the air with record temperatures in Scotland today along with vivid blue skies, swallows swooping and bluebells blooming.
I’ve taken delivery of Scottish linen for some cowl tunic tops in old white (this is the very last Scottish linen available, as sadly the mill in Kirkcaldy has now closed). And I’ve been upcycling pre-loved homeware into soft tunics, as well as using my beloved organic cotton indigo denims to create the most comfortable sweater/shirt/dress, with pockets and roll up sleeves and peg top trews, for the most practical clothing you’ll ever own! And the denim pinny is back, with a nod to my original Roobedo Collection of 1999, perhaps a little reflective now that I have hit my half century in life.

Dressing gowns are still in demand – in every corner of the globe, and the latest request for a matching hottie has meant that I am now happy to add the best comfort in a bottle to my collections! And pink blanket stitch was the colour of May – a lovely addition to my favourite dark charcoal tweed gowns, making me long for Hebridean beach walks picking up cowries and searching for sea pinks.

So much hope in the air – long may it continue. Happy Summer!
