ROOBEDO is committed to ethical manufacturing. Each and every piece is designed and handcrafted by Ruth, right here in Moulin, Pitlochry in the very heart of Scotland.
Supply chain transparency
ROOBEDO is committed to working with total transparency, which means Ruth is more than happy to share the story of your purchases – what they’re made of, where they’re made and more. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch. On placing an order you will receive updates as to how your purchase is progressing and estimated date of despatch along with confirmation of despatch.
Slow Fashion
The ROOBEDO collection is timeless and every piece is made to last. The majority of products are made-to-order, which might make it take longer to arrive, but this ensures ROOBEDO doesn’t keep excess stock, which helps reduce textile waste. All scraps are kept and either repurposed or donated to local community projects.
Eco-friendly fabrics
Harris tweed and Glenlyon tweed are made from 100% pure new wool and produced in Scotland. Denim, linens and cottons are natural materials, and organically produced (mostly) which means they come from the earth and will return to the earth to biodegrade.
Wherever possible, materials including outer fabrics, linings, zips and buttons are sourced right here in the UK or salvaged and purchased from charity/thrift shops. And some of ROOBEDO’s products are actually made from preloved fabrics and even saved from landfill!
Sustainable packaging
Your ROOBEDO purchase will arrive wrapped in acid free tissue and brown paper, fastened with paper tape and string. Sometimes the parcel is then packaged inside a brown cardboard box for security (or occasionally a postal sack made from recycled plastic). Sometimes Ruth reuses packaging, so you may be surprised to see old shoeboxes and cereal packets reused too! Make sure to reuse or recycle your packaging when it arrives!
