Evening class
10 weeks (£60)
Wednesdays 7-9pm
Pitlochry High School
Starts Wed 19th Sept till 5th Dec
(2 week break over October)
Sewing class with Ruth of Roobedo, featuring a selection of bite-size projects which will include making re-useable packaging and everyday things with re-use and recycle in mind. We will use sewing machines and an overlocker, and explore useful sewing techniques to help build your confidence and give you ideas for projects to continue working on at home. Patterns and samples will be available – all you need to bring is a selection of cotton fabrics which you have stashed away or old clothes that you have kept because you love the fabric, as well as your sewing kit. (Your own machine would be useful too, if you have one – but there’s also one to borrow if you don’t). Ruth will also have a range of fabrics to share and a load of sewing bits and pieces – please don’t go out and buy anything special, as the whole emphasis is to re-use and upcycle fabrics. £60 for ten weeks, payable to Pitlochry and District Adult Education Association.

“…this Autumn’s evening class which starts next Wednesday is going to be quite organic, with little projects such as making reusable everyday things. I’m hoping to prompt discussion and share thinking about issues of sustainable fashion and textiles. It will focus mainly on sewing but may lean toward making useful things in general, perhaps sewing by hand or perhaps not at all! There’s a few spaces left, so get in touch if you’re interested.” says Ruth.
