Thoughtful words from Scottish Climate Reality leader Jess Pepper FRSGS, who wore one of my Roobedo sea urchin print skirts in Berlin (June 2018) when delivering a speech as part of the Climate Reality training with Former US VP Al Gore.
She said…”I chose to wear Roobedo for this global event because Ruth’s ethical, thoughtful work from sourcing of materials and up-cycling, inspires and gives me hope. For this event, the style and practical design (with pocket!) gave me much needed confidence. By sharing her talent and expertise, Ruth is empowering children through to adults with skills, knowledge and inspiration to connect positively with the wider issues of sustainability and climate action by making, up-cycling, reuse and design. For me, the fragility of the planet is reflected in the sea urchin design – a beautiful precious creature that reminds me of the joy of nature as a child, now threatened by warming oceans and critically dependent on our action on climate change today.”
