I have spent the last few months dreaming, planning and making as best I can. Amongst designing new products, I’ve also been learning how to repair and service my own sewing machines (more to come about that later) and after several enquiries I am excited to announce that I am now offering one-to-one sewing lessons, as featured in my Workshop section here>> (Covid restrictions allowing).
This weekend (22/23 Aug) I will be exhibiting alongside fifty textile artists as part of CLOTH#20 online showcasing on-line some new pieces I have tried and tested over lock-down and hope you will love! Especially for CLOTH#20, I have updated my SPECIALS and will be available to take calls 07814704256 and answer emails ruth@roobedo.com to discuss fittings and take sales through my website or over the phone – shipping free to all UK addresses.
The new limited edition Scottish Linen peg-top trousers with relaxed waist, roomy side pockets and rolled hem is a new silhouette for Roobedo, wider at the hips and tapering down the leg to the ankle. Looks best rolled up with a touch of ankle showing. Versatile, comfy and you won’t want to take them off – these are loose enough for yoga yet can be dressed up for any occasion. The Scottish linen is woven in Kirckaldy, the last working linen mill in Scotland.
Also my Harris tweed Coorie-coat will make its debut appearance in emerald – this hybrid wardrobe essential is perfect for Scottish weather. Neither coat nor cardigan but the perfect go-to for transitioning into autumn. Unlined, it is made from Harris tweed using Roobedo’s unique washed and felted process. The design features a soft collar and lapel, vintage buttons and salvaged leather buttonholes with giant patch pockets to hold your hat, gloves, keys and mask 🙂 This will be a staple for those working from home as the summer fades and we feel a little chilly sitting at the kitchen table all day!
And my popular Roobedo sea urchin print makes a comeback, featuring a single urchin or cluster on small and medium Harris tweed scatter cushions and wall hangings. A great way to treat yourself – or the perfect gift, with prices starting at only £35.
