From a selection of Roobedo graded card patterns, you will adapt an A-line (or straight) knee length skirt to fit you, learn the construction techniques required to cut and sew your very own skirt with a zip and faced waistband, adding a back pocket and in-seam side pocket if you wish. There will be demonstrations, written instructions and exemplars to help, and you will have the chance to use an overlocker (serger) to get a really professional finish.
Quite a full on and fast paced but fun-filled day for intermediate level sewers. You will have a finished skirt to take away (hopefully!) at the end, plus a paper pattern for you to use again and again, along with heaps of confidence and motivation to carry on sewing.
Materials you will need:-
1 metre denim, cord or sturdy cotton of some sort at 150cm wide. (If your fabric is narrower, then 2 metres would be needed, to be on the safe side.)
8″ / 20cm or 9″ / 23cm concealed or invisible zip in colour of your skirt fabric
1/4m / 25cm iron on fusible, medium weight, charocal or white
(I can provide organic cotton indigo denim and all other materials for additional price £15.00 – see bundle purchase option below)
thread, fabric scissors, pins, chalk, general sewing box stuff
sewing machine, overlocker if you have one
large sheet brown paper, lining paper or newspaper, to take away a copy of your pattern
I will have equipment and machines available, so please don’t let this put you off, if you don’t have list above – email me firstname.lastname@example.org or call/text to discuss 0781 470 4256.

Workshop Cancellations, Changes, and Refunds?
Should you wish to cancel or make any changes to your workshop booking then please phone Ruth on 0781 470 4256 or email email@example.com.
You may cancel with a full refund five or more working days before the course or workshop start date. For cancellations made five or fewer working days before the event, no refund or changes to a booking can be made.
I may be able to offer you a place on an equivalent course or workshop instead of a refund if we are notified up to five working days before the course or workshop start date, and if there is availability.
In the unlikely event that a workshop is cancelled, Ruth will offer you the choice to transfer your space to the next available workshop, a workshop of your choosing, or offer you a full refund. You will be informed of cancellations at least three days before the event.
