Description
TWO HOUR WORKSHOP – book a time that suits you, suitable for two.
Want to try your hand at sewing or get back into it after a long break?
Come and spend a couple of hours with me and dust off that sewing machine with a sewing taster session. Learn how to thread the machine, wind a bobbin, change a needle, sew simple seams and use the different settings / feet on your machine. You will sew a sampler to see what your machine is really capable of and then you can choose from a selection of little projects to make using salvaged/scrap fabrics such as a lavender filled keyring or button bracelet or a lined zip-up purse to take away. Suitable for all levels of sewers, age 12+ (minors must be accompanied by an adult).
Basic workshop price £55 – bring along a friend for free! Max 2 persons per workshop – same price if coming on your own.
No materials needed (unless you think you have a fabric you might like to incorporate into your design) but a sewing kit (with sharp scissors) and your own sewing machine if you have one – there’s nothing like having the opportunity to use your very own machine. Ruth can give you advice on how to clean it and keep it in tip top condition too – as she has a certificate in repairing and servicing sewing machines. If you don’t have a sewing machine, you can borrow one.
