From recycled fabrics, learn sewing techniques and tips and become more confident at sewing whilst making fantastic bag to boot. You will be using donated Glenlyon coffee sacks and recycled car seat belts from Perth Auto Recyclers to create a fully lined and beautifully finished messenger style /over shoulder bag.
Everything is provided – including all cut work, fabrics & threads, machines, instructions, exemplars and a great deal of enthusiasm! Average workshop lasts 4 hours – a perfect afternoon activity with tea and cake.
Each person gets to take away their products at the end. Suitable for all levels of sewers.

Since 1999 Ruth has designed and made classic contemporary clothing, accessories and homeware using a variety of textile techniques for her own label Roobedo. Striving to produce a wholesome and sustainable product, Ruth champions the slow fashion movement and uses the best Scottish fabrics such as Harris tweed and Glenlyon tweed alongside GOTS certified organic cottons and denim as well as recycled and vintage cloths. Ruth also lectures part-time at Dundee and Angus College in the Textiles Department and is actively involved in Pitlochry & District Adult Education, Zerowaste Highland Perthshire and the Dunkeld Climate Café – constantly sharing skills by running workshops and sewing classes.
