This coat was 1 of 3 designed for the Beyond the Bothy Exhibition in Sept 2019 – a collection of wearable pieces, with surface print inspired by research of the history of the local textile industry and exploring parallels with the textiles industry of today. Fuelled by my ethos of the need for sustainability, it is only with traceability and transparency that we are able to make an informed decision of what we wear on our bodies, just as we do for the food we eat.
I was keeping these coats to show at CLOTH#20, but due to the lockdown, sadly I will not be exhibiting this year. I have decided to make them available on my website – and have had to get in front of the camera myself to try to show these off to their best… well, that’s the idea, within lockdown restrictions 🙂
Garment sizing (maybe compare it to a coat you have to get a better idea of fit… I am a size 12, 5foot7inches tall.
