I am so excited to have been asked to run a couple of workshops at the Edinburgh Remakery in May. This is such an inspiring and creative repair hub run by Remade Edinburgh. The Remakery is a co-operative workshop space that diverts valuable waste materials away from landfill through providing a community repair hub and second-hand shop based in the Leith area of Edinburgh. Their vision is to create an alternative to a disposable society by making repair education accessible to all, to build a stronger, waste-free community and support vulnerable people within our city. Right down my street!
Two workshops:-
Sat 25th May 11am – 1pm (£24/£18)
Make your own environmentally friendly scrubbers
and
Sat 25th May 2 – 5pm (£24/£18)
Make your own reusuable eco friendly face pads
There’s a great article worth a read to find out more about Sophie Unwin (the founder of the Edinburgh Remakery) by journalist Kaye Lyons in The Guardian 15th March 2018 “Can we fix it? The repair cafes waging war on throwaway culture”
